From Seeds to Market: A WFP video

In Mayon County, where communities have long faced food insecurity, recurring floods, and limited access to seeds, tools, and agricultural knowledge, a new approach is helping farmers build a more secure future. This video highlights the Asset Creation and Livelihoods and Small Holder Agriculture Market Support project, implemented by Welthungerhilfe with support from the World Food Programme (WFP). The project focuses on empowering small-holder farmers through: • Practical agricultural training • Distribution of seeds and farming tools • Ongoing technical support By strengthening farming skills and resources, the project helps increase food production, improve livelihoods, and build resilience against climate and economic shocks. The video also explores how financial inclusion, through savings and loan groups, enables families to invest in small businesses, strengthen household income, and take greater control of their livelihoods. Community members share how they gained new knowledge, valuable experience, and responsibilities such as monitoring farm activities and managing land use. 🎥 Production Credit: This video was shot and produced in November 2025 by Bebe Joel Hillary, a South Sudanese documentary storyteller and producer, in collaboration with Ruthilla Digital.
